Ethnic Sonata (for oboe and piano)

The Ethnic Sonata (for oboe and piano) was written in 1980 in Athens, Georgia.  The work is in three movements.

I. Allegretto con moto                              ca. 4′ 56″
II. Larghetto con molto espressivo        ca. 7′ 34″
III. Con slancio                                             ca. 5′ 50″

Total Duration: ca. 18′ 20″

Instrumentation: oboe, piano.

Performed 2/11/89 by Liz Tomorsky, oboe and Michael Chertok, piano at the Cincinnati Composers Guild concert, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Performed 4/8/97 by Harvey Stokes, oboe and Willia Daughtery, piano, Hampton, Virginia.

Performed 1/31/99 by Harvey Stokes, oboe and Kyong Jarrell, piano, at the Tidewater Chapter of National Association of Composers, USA  conference, Newport News, Virginia.
